September fish has awakened?

Have you noticed how you haven't caught one single Pufferfish in September?

Well, in Fishao certain kinds of fish becomes active/inacite at certain times of the year. For example today I got contacted by a player who caught a Giant Snakehead in Aquayama, which I have never known about until this month. And yesterday when I was in Tombani I caught Freshwater Goby and Goldsilk Bream which I had not caught the previous month when I was there.

This is what the reserved column to the right in the tables are for in the Area Fishing Guide. So now I have started adding more detailed info there. For example for Pufferfish it now says "? -> Aug", which means it's active from an unknown time (?) of the year until August (Aug). And on Giant Snakehead it says "Sep -> ?" which means it's active from September until an unknown time of the year. These will eventually ofcourse get the questionmarks replaced by actual months, like "Feb -> Sep" and so on.

I think I have those times correct for now but I'm not 100% certain. You guys are welcome to contact me if you notice errors ofcourse. Remember that the notepad in your Fishdex is your best friend =)

Perhaps some cool (litteraly) 5-star fish will become active during the winter months?   ;-)

Have fun exploring Fishao! =)

Help needed with Fishmarket trading prices

I have decided that I'm going to introduce a section on the blog where you can check the best known prices at the Fishmarket for your fish.

Would you like to help me out? I have put together a table with all the different fishes that I know of. Some are still unknown to me so they will be marked with a questionmark (?).

To avoid getting too many emails, I want you to be atleast level 20.

Every person who participates I will thank directly on this blog. For those who want to help, just make sure that you set your ingame language to english as the table is in english.

-How do I set my game language to english?
- Like this (click to enlarge):

_______________________________________________________________________

This is how you can help:

1, Download the fishmarket table HERE (just click "download now" after countdown finishes.) You need Wordpad or Word to open the table.

2, Fill in the form when you visit the Fishmarket. It's best if you keep the form for a while, maybe a week. If you have caught a fish that is not in the list, just change one of the empty posts marked with "?".

3, When you are ready to send me the table. Rename the file with your ingame name. Just add your name after "Fishmarket". So if your name is Salty you will rename the file to: Fishmarket Salty

Send me the your table to this address: fishaoblog-fish@yahoo.se
The subject for the email should be: Fishmarket [your ingame name]
_______________________________________________________________________

All this is just to keep everything organized and pretty, since there are 152 posts per file. It will be much easier for me to work with! =)

Remember, much of the content of this blog exists thanks to everyone who keeps sending me info and screenshots. This blog is largely community created!

A big thanks to everyone who have helped out this far!

Have fun guys and girls =)

Tournament Fishing Guide completed!

Today I have finished the Tournament Fishing Guide!

If you have caught a fish that is not present there yet you are welcome to send me a screenshot of it =)

Sharing a nice screenshot with you guys of the new WR for Common Octopus, 374 cm. Did you know that the Octopus is not a fish? It's classified as a invertibrate and is a type of Mollusc. Cool!

World record for Common Octopus!

Some people are wondering if I'm going to introduce a section on the blog dedicated to the Fishmarket trading prices. I am considering it but it's not decided yet. If I'm going to do it I will probably make a form with all the known species for people to copy/download, fill it in and then send it back to me. That would probably be a good solution since it's a big job keeping track of the lowest and highest prices for 151 types of fish and one Invertibrate (or perhaps more?).

So now you know guys =)

Anyways, have fun! =)

Biggest Fish ever caught, NEW WR!

On the 16:th of July I spoke to Mitch at Pinheira Beach. That was the first time I learnt about the existence of the Green Sawfish. That very day I tried to catch it and I DID get something huge to bite which looked like it could be a "five". But I immediately lost the fish since it was much too big for my rod back then.

So for two months now I have been trying to catch this fish. I knew that the player Weezle had caught several Green Sawfish and I understood that he must have some type of secret to catching it. Well, I don't want to reveal too much... fishermen have their secrets..  ;-) ... But I stumbled upon something and today, after two months of Fishing I finally caught the fish and it was an absolute MONSTER Green Sawfish.

I can hardly believe that I managed to pull it up since it was really really strong, and I was just a tiny hair from loosing it. But when I actually DID manage to pull it up my eyes popped out of their sockets, it was HUGE. I beat the World Record for Green Sawfish and at the same time also the WR for the biggest fish ever caught in Fishao with about ONE METER. It was 722 cm long!

So yeah, I guess you can imagine that I am more than satisfied right now! =)

Fish Market has opened!

Today the brand new Fish Market has opened up in Pinheira Beach!
Fish bucks!

This is how it works:
All fish that you catch from now on will be put into your inventory. You can go to the Fish Market to sell your fish in return for the new ingame currency "Fish bucks". Right now you can use this currency to buy energy with, but you will be able to buy many different type of things with it in the future as Fishao gets updated.

John works at the Fish Market
There are two people working  at the Fishmarket, John and Rick. The amount of Fish bucks that you get for a certain type of fish will vary from day to day. John will give you individual prizes for each type of fish, and Rick will buy them all for the price he specifies. The more rare the fish is the more Fish bucks you get! You can also use your fish in trades with other players. So it's all about being as smart a businessman/woman that you can =)

Now open! Welcome in!
This new currency removes time spent waiting and greatly increases the time you spend on actively fishing, since the fish you catch can be sold for Fish bucks and the Fish bucks can be used to buy energy. It's a win-win situation =)

In my opinion it's a brilliant new feature for this game. It adds a new dimension, keeps the pace up in the game and gives players a new fun way to increase their energy, and also as stated earlier it will soon also give you lots of more things to spend your Fish bucks on! =)

The Fishmarket is closed on sundays.

Have fun! =)

Just a quick update

This is just a quick update to let you know what I'm currently working on with this blog. I have had suggestions from different people to add a fishing guide for tournaments in the same style as the current Area Fishing Guide with the tables. Actually,  I had already started working on it, so I agree that it's a good idea!   X-)

It will be ready "soon" (currently my schedule is a little bit busy).
Maybe on this weekend.

Oh... and I might as well share a piece of information about the Mandarinfish that I've just found out about thanks to the player Hondzik78. Previously I thought that the Mandarinfish could only be caught from the pier in Pinheira, but it turns out you can also catch it from the beach.

Is there really a difference if you fish from the beach or from the pier? Well, have you ever caught a Puffer Fish from the beach?  *mysterious smile*

Mandarinfish.

Have fun! =)

Goldcarp World Record!

I have been trying intesively for about three days now to catch a Green Sawfish at Pinheira Beach. I have yet to catch one! But in my attempts I happened to set the new WR for Common Dolphinfish. So thats quite alright  ;-)

Every now and then I get asked from players if it's possible to catch octopus in this game. The answer is yes. So I thought I'd show a picute of it. I have only caught it once in Seagul Harbor which you unlock at level 60. It's a fun place where you actually get to rent small boat for 15 minutes and go out on the sea to catch some nice fish.

Wr for Hammerhead is 564cm
In Seagul Harbor you can catch the famous Blue Marlin and you can also catch some really big Hammerhead Sharks. My biggest Hammerhead was 526cm.

New World Record!
I only have two types of fish left to catch in Laketown. So I set out to catch one of them, the Goldcarp. I didn't catch one, but I did catch three pikes, all on grasshoppers, so I'm still satisfied =)

However, I was fishing at the time with FredrikJ97, and he actually managed to catch the Goldcarp, and not only that, it was also a new world record for that species! An improvement with 26 cm! Gratz to that! =)

Have fun everyone! =)

Biggest fish World Record!

New World Record: 625 cm
The world record for biggest fish ever caught in Fishao has now been broken by the player Weezle!

The new record is a 625 cm Green Sawfish! But that is not all, he actually caught THREE Green Sawfish the same day! ... and he didn't even use any luck potion. I'm not sure what the secret to this is. He didn't want me to tell what kind of bait he used or what time he caught them. So the screenshot has been edited ;-)

It feels quite mysterious, doesn't it? =)

What do you people think about some type of reward for the currect WR holder? Perhaps something fun and unique to wear like a hat, shirt or something like that, until someone beats him/her. Just like in Tour de France where the current leader is always wearing the yellow shirt. Well, it's just a suggestion =)

Anyways, have fun!

5-star world records

Gratz to Vilevari for this catch.
It's fun to see more and more people gathering up and playing this game. This also means more challangers for records. I can see an increase in world records being set and also more and more people are sending in data on their 5-star fish. So thanks to all of you guys! You are all helping to make this blog better by the day!

Perhaps one of the more exciting type of world records are the ones on 5-star fish. For example, the world record for Coelacanth has now been broken by the player Vilevari and went from 105cm to 125cm, not bad! It's also the first Coleacanth reported to have been caught during daytime.

Weezle caught this nice Sailfish.

Another impressive new WR for Sailfish has been broken by Weezle. It is infact also the only reported catch I have recieved to the blog about this fish.

And on a sidenote, Weezle also discovered that Arapaima can be caught in Aquayama as well, and not only in Rio Tropical.

The Area Fishing Guide will have an update soon as I am getting more data from Tombani Town.

Have fun!
